Locksmiths’ Tower, located on the current Tipografiei street was built in 1574 and belonged to the second medieval enclosure of city defence.
The building is one of the few parts of this enclosure which is still preserved today. Later, the tower was built, being used until the early 20th century by city fire fighters to supervise the city. Its use as a watch tower conferred it the name “the Firemen’s Tower”.
Having ceased to be used as a fire lookout, the tower hosted Firemen’s Museum, which is no longer operating.
